Ugh. Guh. Grunt.

Just got back from the dentist.  One phrase I hope I'll never hear again?  "The decay looks deeper than I thought.  We may need to do a root canal and a crown on this one."  Yeah.  Luckily it turned out to be not as bad as he thought.  Still...scared the crap out of me ( Read more... )

Thanks, Gabrielle. Grandma passed away shortly after I wrote this. She just couldn't breathe anymore and went quietly. We're all okay with it, since she had a good, loooong life, and towards the end she really had no quality of life.

I hope that if she still exists somewhere, somehow, that she is in no pain, and reunited with my grandfather.

*hugs you* I am glad she's no longer suffering, but my heart goes out to you and everyone else who is missing her.

Thanks, Gabrielle. ::hugs back::

As with my other grandma (who is still alive) I really do feel like they (the person I loved all my life) are already gone. What is left is just a body that isn't ready to give up yet. If that makes any sense?

I HATE the dentist!! Mine is always trying to bully me into doing more than I need done.

Mine doesn't do that, but this was the first time I had a cavity deep enough that they had to numb me before they did their work. And sadly, they had to numb me several times. I found out later from my mom that she and I have the same problem - we don't numb quickly. The shots finally started to kick in about half an hour after the dentist was done.

I've been through the numbing thing several times, too. It's not fun. I'm sorry you had to go through that. How do you feel now?

Ugh. Sorry you've had to go through it too. You're right. Not fun.

It's been almost a week and my gums still hurt where he did the injections. They're fine when I'm not doing anything, but when I'm brushing my teeth it's ow, ow, ow.

AND, while I was eating dinner today, I chewed something and I swear I thought my filling had come out. It felt like someone jabbed an ice pick into my tooth. But I continued chewing very carefully and never did find the filling so I am assuming it is still there, especially since after the first 5 seconds there was no pain. So...cross your fingers that THAT doesn't happen again!

Going to the dentist sucks.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I'm praying for her.

Thanks, Snogged. She has passed, and I think we're all a little relieved. She did not have much quality of life towards the end.

I had my first root canal in February and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I hope that if it is your grandma's time that she goes easily. (I know that at times like this that it is for the best, as much as we love them.)

Have fun planning for Greece!

Eek! Well I am a great big chicken and I really am going to do anything I can to make sure I don't have to have one in the future.

Grandma went smoothly and I we are all a little relieved, I think. Dad seems to be doing okay - he was the one I was most worried about.

I have convinced the other 3 to create LJ accounts so that we can post whatever comes to mind while we are planning, and the tagging feature should really come in handy to get things organized. Now if I could just remember how to do a picture header on a plus account....
