Diet?

I'm fat. I know this. I don't mean in the "oh God I'm so bloated and hideous" neurotic way, but simply in the practical one. At coming up 15 stone which has been steadily gaining for the last five or so years, I am quite simply rather drastically overweight ( Read more... )

If it's only slightly under, then it should work. The thing to remember is that simply cutting down food intake suddenly can put the body into "starvation mode" where it stops using up as much fuel because it thinks the fuel's gone away. So it trys to eke out fat reserves for as long as possible. But as I said, if it's not a drastic cut back, you should be fine.

I've found the most helpful thing for my food intake has been recognising what it is about a food I crave that I'm actually after. After a sticky bun? Am I just after the sugar? The carbohydrates? The raisins? Find more options by going for the subconscious desire over the concious one.
