So does she! Unless there's an option for just wrapping her in newspapers. She takes pride in being cheap and she wants us to save some money to have a party celebrating her life.
I dunno that we'll be able to manage a full-fledged party, but y'know.
I cannot fathom wasting good bits. Body bits count. If you're atheist or agnostic, you probably would want to out of sheer pragmatism. It's logical. If you're of any of the major faiths that believe that it's just a shell and the soul's going on to better things anyway, you should want to so that someone else's life on this crazy world is just a little bit easier. Still logical.
I think the Pro-life argument against using the remains of aborted babies to further medical research comes down to the element that an informed adult who chooses to donate their organs upon death, is an informed adult. A child who is killed in the womb was not. Now, you can argue the mother/father of said child could donate the remains to science, and that would placate some.
I think they should. I would if I had to make that decision (and in my case, I'd do it only if there was no way I'd survive the pregnancy, or no way for it to survive. But that's my choice.)
An animal can't consent. If my cat died and donating the body would further science and/or medicine, hell yes I'd do it.
Yes, I'm Christian and do tend to see human life as still more important - between an animal and a child, I'd kill the animal to save the kid - but it would suck.
I really don't think it promotes abortion. I think the taboo about sex (har!) and miseducation about it is doing worse things. I hate that some women see it as convenience, though - you didn't want a kid, you knew the risks, you had sex anyway, take it to term dammit and try adopting it out if you find you can't stomach it. Someone else shouldn't have to suffer because of your selfish mistake

I will be the first to admit there ARE grey areas with abortion first and foremost would be life threatening situations with the mother. Rape would be another one... it's kinda hard to tell a 13 year old "it's not your fault, but you have to carry the baby till term though

The fetus does not belong to the fetus for the same reason the cat does not belong to the cat and until he turns 18, the child does not belong to the child.
I'm against aborting for advancement, yes - but people are still aborting for their own sakes. Why not use their bodies and make something that may've meant little to their parents mean something for the rest of the human life?
The baby is still part of a woman's body. It has potential to become its own, but it is not for a good while.

Really, once I'm dead, take whatever you need/want, I wanna be cremated anyway, so it's not like it matters.
