Save Kiana Firouz (LGBT activist, film-maker, actor, lesbian) from being deported back to Iran from the UK.

I've been following this case for a couple of weeks, and it's my understanding than the ruling against her asylum case acknowledged that she had valid reasons to seek asylum but that the asylum was denied because the UK was not obligated to accept these reasons, eventhough they were found to be valid. It's seriously awful.

The world is going to hell in a handbasket. Clearly, only int'l pressure will do it, and even that's iffy. I think the other thing that was being factchecked was whether she could seek asylum in another EU country, or perhaps in Canada or something. Which is obviously not optimal, but probably better than being flogged/hanged.

The levels of racism involved in the thing are EPIC.

(wow, can I just say how racially weird the UK was. It seems so much saner than the US.... and then the most surprising people say the most awful things!)

Is the UK's decision here insane troll logic? Because it makes no sense at all to me...
