I had some disagreement with Pratchett, though mostly because I think his LAWS OF NARRATIVE bit is too narrow, and that he glossed over it, and that storytelling benefits when you challenge forms and allow them to evolve, but hey, I enjoy postmodern novels. SO.
As for Gabaldon-gate, I agree with you so hard yet again. You win for posting this.

Your plot quibbles are well taken (I have no answers for you), and I really miss the dark humor too. Although I did kind of enjoy seeing Will called out on his sluttiness. Also the introduction of Olivia Newton John was totally bizarre: like, what? Do we really have to pause for a little commercial informing us who this is?
I am still waiting for Mike (Other!Asian) to get a plot. Also: I love Brittany.
