Hannah from Theatre Shoes would probably mangle a special hymn on your behalf, while giving you glares of death. At least she'd do the ironing while she was about it. :)

Hope the world looks better in the a.m., and Georgette and/or Terry gave you sweet dreams.

Man, Theatre Shoes might be my favorite one... although I've had a recent love-affair with Traveling Shoes as well. I definitely think I could still use a Hannah, however.

Hangover definitely receding, though not gone. I've noticed that they take longer to recover from with age. It's v. sad.

Hope the world wags well for you this fine Sunday.

PG Wodehouse is my go-to in these situations.

I don't know why I didn't think of him! I've also got a Saki collection that I haven't delved into yet. Oh these crazy Edwardians!

This might be in the comments, but Sam has committed 9 part fic and is posting it this week. This is the prequel from last year: http://sam-storyteller.livejournal.com/150130.html

Thinking of books...thinking, er...I'm really enjoying Tom Robbins. But I've been reading Jitterbug Perfume veeeeeeery sloooooowly. Any faster and it might not be as nice.

You know, I could never really get into Tom Robbins. I have weird taste sometimes; I can recognize something is good, but... just somehow not be able to enjoy it. Odd, that.

I think if I tried to read it on its own with no other books in the background I might get tired of the "O HAI I SEE WHAT U DID THAR" that I'm doing with this book. Taken a little bit at a time, though, it's good.

I agree, though, about that feeling of "I know this is good but I am not enjoying it."
