Oh! I can't tell you how long I've been hoping that someone in fandom would write a fic like this -- and you've done it so beautifully. You've captured Wilde perfectly, and Jack's wistful lonliness. *sigh*

Thank you! I thought Jack = Dorian was too good to be passed up -- it just seems natural, doesn't it?

THEY MAKE ME SAD. :-(

That was beautiful.
And I could totally go with Oscar Wilde writing Dorian while thinking of Jack. Dorian Gray might as well be Jack.
Oscar/Jack, I might ship it. This fic leaves me wanting more.

I wouldn't be surprised either if Jack had a go with Dorian Gray in another universe. =P

Hahaha, Jack/Dorian would be great.

And I think I might ship Oscar/Jack too. *g* Maybe there will be more, at some point.

Thanks for reading & commenting! I'm delighted you enjoyed it. =D

Oh, your Wilde voice is biting and perfect. I especially like fifteen-year-old Wilde; he's so sure of himself and the rightness of his opinions, and already so clearly talented.

And you've captured the melancholy of Jack's life so well, especially this period of it. Excellent fic!

Thank you so much! I had a great time with 15-year-old Wilde. It was really fun tying him in with the Dickens stuff; he didn't think much of him (and uh, neither do I, really. Which might have showed.)

The sadness made me... sad, but with both these guys, it was sort of inevitable.

I'm delighted you liked it!

This is breathtaking: bittersweet in all the right places, and exactly what I wanted when I saw that someone had finally! written this pairing.

We won't even talk about that photograph. *g*

So glad you delurked. I'm a lurker from way back, so I definitely sympathise! I'm so pleased you enjoyed it.

I kind of can't believe there isn't more Wilde/Jack all over the place. It just seems to suggest itself, doesn't it?

And I had a lot of fun with the photograph. *g*

Thank you again for reading and commenting!

I swear to you sitting next to me on my desk is a book called "Coffee with Oscar Wilde"

I adore Oscar! And your voice is perfect!

Yay! Fandoms are synchronous. It is awesome. I'm delighted you enjoyed it. Some of Oscar's dialogue is adapted from things he actually said, and some of it I made up, but felt distinctly worried about. He's a hard voice to live up to! So thank you very much.

Oscar's voice had to be incredibly daunting, but you did it beautifully!

This is officially my new fav one shot!
