bulletins from the front

This has clearly been a poor time to not be on the internets! But alas. While I was otherwise occupied, it seems amazon has been, well, having epic fail. Which sucks, for many, many reasons but is also hugely irritating because I FUCKING LOVE BUYING BOOKS FROM AMAZON. And is also sad, because okay, evil, corporate, whateverthefuck, fine. I'm used ( Read more... )

*grins* thanks!

And yeah, those "this is exactly like being awake" dreams are really weird.

Either that, or Tarzan. Which is better? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks, hon. *hugs back*

I saw the post you mention, but regardless, I think that Amazon handled the whole thing pretty badly from a pr front, and were particularly vulnerable to this kind of trolling based based on their whole "adult" policy, as well as biases that probably exist, as they do in say, film rating, or what have you. Also, their public face is peculiarly non-transparent, and they are extremely hard to communicate with -- which sucks for an internet company. This whole hooplaha could've been avoided if they'd handled it better. But one imagines they'll learn, esp. since major news outlets are picking it up at least a little.

I hope your chiro can help. Mine helped a lot last summer. It will probably take a series of treatments, but I did feel better after my first one.

As for Amazon. Yeah. What you said.

Val just showed me Bright Young Things a few days ago, very much in a "you're writing a story set in this time in this place, you should watch this" spirit. I enjoyed Michael Sheen queening around with his race car driver boyfriend, and I thought the writer was a woobie. It did have a romantic ending, but I think in the Hollywood ending they would have kept the money and chucked out the David Tennant character without much sympathy.

My brother and many friends have had good luck with chiropractors.

Hooray you! We've missed you. Yes.

Sorry to hear about your father's discomfort, but I like to think that being cranky at one's infirmity can be a good sign. Obviously your (and his) mileage may vary.

Family madness sounds mad. As someone with a (very) small family, I am ducking and covering.

Good luck with the chiropractor!
