If I am a good boy, I might get Indian tonight. We don't have Ethiopan in CoMo (more's the pity), but I hear rumors we might have Korean again...

The Doctor's melancholia in this is wonderful, and I find myself completely horrified that he needs this so much. Also, mad porcupine on speed is a rather accurate caricature.
and here he was, in the future, nice ordinary Ianto Jones, who'd studied film at Cardiff University and taken a job as a secretary in London because he couldn't find anything better to settle down to.
And in this he is so many companions, but most especially the New Who ones, and most MOST especially, I suppose, Rose.
Oh my gosh, you certainly aren't disappointing with the references. This has layers of itself all through it, Gwen's panties and Face of Boe's food and Jack's longing and everything, everything. It's such a rich and textured world, and you let it all play out so beautifully.
MICHAEL MOORCOCK. It's my own personal canon that Dancers at the End of Time would be Jack's ( ... )

There's a lot of parallels between Ianto and Rose in this fic; I don't think we put that one in on purpose, but yes, you are completely right.

When we read through it the first time, I was like, omg, did we reference every single story at least once? And then we looked, and yes, yes, we did. lol.
I like when ianto manages to outsmart him, especially since even if the Doctor's there he's not really helping. Per se.
The Doctor is trying to help (sort of) but he's just kind of bad at it.
...I burst into tears. For. You know. The record.
We, um, may have done too there. A little.

"Here's how this is going to work. You're going to behave and get on with things, so I can get off here. Then I'm going to torment you. Possibly all night. Because I don't need to rest and teasing you breaks up the monotony of reading," Jack said. "Besides," he added, lowering his voice as if confiding a conspiracy, "I think you'd be amazing, not quite able to sleep, no way to get off and begging me."
-made me bite my fist and whimper.
