i'm happy. you've got a good head on your shoulders. no matter how late. as long as you start to realise these things you've done better than the majority of people that inhabit this planet.

you should read the book 'no logo'. it pretty much sums up how you are feeling.
consumerism.
Exploitation.

This whole thing is kind of overwhelming once you start getting into it.

Its hard to draw the line between being aware of this and taking action yet still being presentable to society.

i think this is something that collectively i've discovered myself (not to sound selfish), through trial and error. finding 'who i really am' (or whatever cliché term you want to use) over the past few months has landed me in this exact day, hour, minute and second... so to say 'finally' actually offends me. if you truly knew me as a whole i feel like you would have phrased that differently. no offense.

Don't be so hard on yourself. As long as you don't judge those less fortunate, and you are a good friend, and an honest person...that's what matters most. I'm sure you are quite generous with friends and family. You've been fortunate to meet someone who has worked hard and become successful at what he does, and from what it sounds like from previous entries, you yourself work very hard...so there is nothing wrong with treating yourself with things you love, whatever they may be. Of course it's easy to go overboard, but as long as your true to yourself, your friends, your family...it's all good.
