So I opened the front door to my building yesterday morning to find that someone had jimmied open my mailbox and stolen all my mail. They got two day's worth of mail and I've NO idea what I've lost

Just some ideas...

Social security administration - so no one sets up a SS# in your name
Expert in ID theft
Do fraud alert for all those services - Experian, Equifax whatever those are called
Ask your health co to remove your SS# from their statements
Get a PO box and divert your mail to it? People hit more than once and now your box is open.
Stop paper statements from most places.

Just some ideas.

I really hope that day was the day you got a Nigerian scam by mail.

I agree with the PO box idea, and maybe booby trap the current box when it's repaired, not with a grenade (though that would be fun) but with a fake letter for something that looks important but if they steal the details will set off alarm bells and allow them to be tracked somehow?

No idea *what* you could use, but I'm sure people have had this idea before.

And also, hugs. That just sucks Skrull scrotum :(
