My furniture is sadistic

Mmmm, tamales for brunch. Specifically, I have spinach mushroom tamales that I'm drenching in excellent salsa verde and I can't get enough of them. I've been eating them for the last four days straight. In fact, my brother and I have a new thing: every time we've gotten together over the last few weeks, we usually wind up with me steaming some ( Read more... )

I've actually been wondering if you liked OLDBOY. I love it, but even I get upset at the octopus scene. I'd totally have understood if that'd turn you off the whole movie, as--I believe--it did for you with CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST (which I still haven't seen, for that reason).

You're getting senile, dear. We've talked about OLDBOY before! After two viewings, I decided that I loved it, but JESUS, it's not a film that I want to watch, like, every other week due to it's rather uncomfortable subject matter.

The octopus scene was pretty hard for me to watch because of the brutality and viciousness, although the incest stuff disturbed me far more. I wasn't sure that that was a real octopus until I read an article about the film which described at length how Choi Min-sik, because he's a Buddhist, said a prayer for the octopus. Still, that scene was the only scene that I felt was tacked on somewhat arbitrarily. (And seriously, they couldn't have used an octopus made of some newfangled latex or molded seitan or something?)

I rock? Cool! I'll be awaiting that PM - I'm mostly not busy today, other than OD-ing on making icons. :D

And that Hughes cover is hilarious. He's funny. Although knowing me, I could be wrong and he intended that Power Girl cover as absolutely serious, and not tongue-in-cheek at all.

I would like very much to get that D++ thing to work. Because I'm desperately in need of some issues of Avengers vol. 3! I'll need to reinstall YIM, as I NEVER use it. Do you use AIM, perchance?

Pilates is one of those things I keep finding myself curious about but it also seems like something that having a good teacher helps a lot. Also I love the association meme so hit me up again and I'll go do part number three.

Pilates is actually French for the sensation of having been beat with a real big stick.

Just, you know, so you know.

I don't really use my LJ for anything, so yeah.

But, my 5 things I associate with you,
1) Being able and willing to challenge any 'creator' on their BS
2) Lots of books
3) James "Rhodey" Rhodes
4) Cable (and Domino as an OTP)
5) Being a Sci-Fi and RPG fan person

And on that note
