How did I not know before this that George R.R. Martin's 'not a blog' (grrm) blog is on LiveJournal!!! [facepalm] There's a new casting clue up btw.

Been watching a ton of stuff lately. Last week, I continued my Battlestar Galactica rewatch (currently in S3). And I'm almost finished with my Star Trek: TOS rewatch. I usually watch one episode per ( Read more... )

I tried. I REALLY tried. I watched all three movies and I STILL don't get why people think the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series is good.

Downton Abbey is my new favorite show! So brilliantly complex and nuanced. The stories make me feel for all the characters, occasionally even the characters I hate like Mrs. O'Brien and Thomas. They make dealing with the changes of the time seems so fresh and relevant. Reminds me of North & South or Mad Men. I ship Bates/Anna and Sybil/Branson. I love Matthew and Mary's love/hate relationship but I'm unsure if I want them together in the end. Mary is so terrible to people sometimes but then she'll do something that gains my sympathy. Can't wait for S2!

Amélie is a fun, playfully inventive film. I loved everyone's quirks. And of course, I'm a big sucker for things that are destined. I liked it.

Yeah. I hated her at first, but I feel like she did a lot of growing up in S1, more than anyone else IMO.

I liked Bates/Anna at first, but I got sick of Bates and his ever self-sacrificing act just to keep the peace around. It just got to be too much.
