Tiger, RIP

I was over at Janice and Gideon's yesterday for a birthday party for their daughter, but it also involved being able to see and pet and say goodbye to their cat Tiger, who had kidney failure two weeks ago and was very weak and not expected to last much longer. He died that night. He was 21 years old, the oldest cat I've known to date, and until ( Read more... )

He was, yes. Lots and lots of people congregate at their house, and Tiger was a favorite of most people who came to their house... and he sure liked all the attention he could get. He'd go from one person to the next to the next, pawing for pettins. I've never met a group that likes cats more... when they were over here for Dave's birthday, I'd shut my cats into the guest room to make sure they wouldn't get out and generally keep things quiet, and everyone was going into the room to visit them.

Lindsey wrote what's in the link - she's Janice's sister and also grew up with Tiger.

I have it friends only, but it basically says:

"When I was about 4 my sister and I begged for a cat so much that my parents finally caved and got me and Janice each a kitten. Timothy, my little gray and white, disappeared freshman year of college since he didn't seem to enjoy living with my sister and they locked him out of the house inadvertently one weekend they were away. Tiger, my sister's cat, was the brawnier of the two but still very affectionate while his brother was more of a one woman cat.

Tiger's gone. His kidneys have been failing for a while and he took a sudden turn for the worst two weeks ago. Saw him yesterday at Lorelei's birthday party, and he died last night around 10:40p. As hard as it was to see him like that, thank god I went."
