charlie and the chocolate factory

I finally went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night. Had one of those listless evenings where I didn't feel like going home and didn't feel like doing this or that or... /aha/. Movie. I enjoyed the movie overall, but felt that they tried to do a little too much with CG. Those scenes with all the Oompa-Loompas looked totally fake. They should've used different people for the Oompa-Loompas just to avoid that digital mess. And the songs felt kind of silly and childish, but... I guess that's just the target demographic. All in all, though, not a bad movie. I particularly liked the evident Tim Burton style of Charlie's broken down house.

The house was cool. Though I recognized Jack Skellington's curvy hill in the candy-cane trees. :>

And yeah, I agree on the fakeness.
