WHY THE HELL ARE YOU CRYING WHEN A GUY PROPOSES TO YOU?!?!No really, why? Whether you believe in the religious aspect of marriage, you must agree that when that question is asked, people are pretty happy

Was watching that wedding show "Say Yes to the Dress" and I turned to my mother and said "Why do women start crying so hard when they get proposed to :O?" and I remember watching another wedding show where they showed the couple before their proposal and the girl was pretty hysterical as soon as the ring came out *facepalm*!

I think your sample is thus limited to "people willing to have their proposal televised", and may be biased!

Plus being on TV makes people act weird even when they're doing normal things...

Some people cry when they're happy or surprised.

I guess they're just too overcome with emotion.

Sometimes the engagement is much nicer then the wedding. Less stress.

I'd probably be more shock or surprise if anything.

It's a case of overwhelming emotions. Have you ever been so happy you could cry? <--- a term I have heard many times. When I RAEG I sometimes cry; when someone does something uber stupid I cry....Just overwhelming emotions. It is something that I will not only link to "sad"...Crying is also a venting tool, thus you cry (when you are sad) you feel better (unless you have depression, then sometimes no matter how much crying you NEVER feel any better.)

I can't say I've ever been so happy I've cried. The only time I could see myself doing that is when I get handed my diploma only because..."IT'S REALLY REALLY OVER AJASKIQEDAS 8DDDD!"
