I fail to see the great use of this electricity. Believe me, Claire, I do not mean to insult the good work you and your fellows do. I am sure it is a difficult task to bring power to such a broken city as this. Bringing adequate water would be no small task either. And I certainly could not turn my nose up at the heat. It simply seems.... silly. No ( Read more... )

It's not as much electricity as Manhattan. Now that place was a lot of lights!

I could probably use practice with Soul Eater. Is it true what Impa said, that those ice Other-things only can get cut with the little black knifes? If that's the case, then I probably need to learn to fight better with both at once.

...Also the bow I got in Termina, but Link's probably a better one to aks for help with that. I've got a lousy shot, but I only picked it up a few weeks ago.

Hey, ...and I have something that's sort of personal to ask you too. If you don't mind. Since...you're the only one I know who's Official with anybody. Well except for Zelda, but I don't think I could ask her without it being weirder.

That it was indeed. ...And far too loud. I hope such noise is not necessary for the electricity.

It is true. And two blades are better than one. It is difficult, to wield both at once, but I am confident in your determination.

Alas, I am a rather poor shot, myself. My lady Zelda, however, is quite talented. Likely she or Link would be your best bet. Perhaps Impa.

...Yes? What is it?

They said the generator buzzing is normal. I didn't mind all the city noise, though. Ten times over more exciting than this place.

Well Roxas can use his two keyblades...but they're much better balanced. Which reminds me, I still need to ask him if I can try out Oblivion sometime.

Oh! I didn't know she was good at it too...I just figure it'd be handy for lookout post, to be able to shoot things from up there. But I'll ask one of them, if they're not busy. I guess all the food collecting business is just as important as training. At least right now, it seems like everyone's so worried about it.

Uh...I was wondering how you go about making it Official, with a girl you like who's most special. I don't want to miss any steps, 'cause it feels like I am and I think she's upset with me, and I'm not sure where I messed up. Also I don't want Yuffie mad at me for it either, because she's still a really good friend.

I cannot share your sentiment.

[Private]

If you are not well accustomed to dual wielding, it can be easier to have the lighter weapon in your off hand. In time you may move on to larger blades.

Winters here are not ideal. We must make do with what we can harvest ahead of time.

...Offi--oh. Ah. This would be your first time courting, wouldn't it? It is quite simple. You must only cart her up a tower.

[That was an attempt at a joke. He continues, becoming more serious.]

Be honest with her, tell her of your affections and that you would hope to stand at her side. And be honest with Yuffie, as well. I am sure she will understand.

At least they're doing something. Changing this place around, fixing things up, working their weird magic. They're earning their scars and blisters. They'll have a story to tell when they get back. Sure, setting up strange light things in a crumbling city won't make for the most exciting tale, but it's better than nothing. They might even be able to make a play out of their noble deeds. With some necessary changes and embellishment, of course. You need a few monster encounters, some corruption, and...

Come to think of it, that would make a fine joke. How many Task Force members does it take to light dozens of magic fires?

I'm pleased to find your good humor persists through all things, cousin. And just what have you been doing to earn your own scars and blisters, I wonder?

I try. It'd be so much easier if I could get my hands on a steady supply of wine, but you know... roughing it. As far as my scars and blisters? Cleaning bath water. Apparently, that's my calling in life. Cleaning and keeping an eye out for that guy they caught sleeping in the girl's section. Exciting, huh?

I am sure it is riveting.

...I would not pass up a bit of wine, I confess. Perhaps you can pry yourself away from your thrilling work.

There is electricity? But the houses look so dark.

It is not quite stable, as yet, but we are working hard to make it so.

You've been busy-busy? But why is it far-fetched? Don't you like lights?

kakolookiyam October 8 2009, 00:10:38 UTC
Quite busy. Ah, where I come from, light is provided by wood or oil. Not by... wires.

I appreciate what they're doing, but ideas and machines from the Techno age always seemed a little too complicated to me.

They make little enough sense, though I suppose some of them are convenient.
