I have decided to start taking recommendations, as I will soon be constructing my 20 greatest albums of all time.

The only rule I seem to have right now is that I won't include the same band more than twice.

Keep in mind that this is my top 20, so you should not recommend things that I will gruff at you about.

it seems to me that you enjoyed in the aeroplane a lot, and probably ok computer as well, and i recall you wearing a fair amount of pink floyd gear despite my regular and unfair derision, and there probably ought to be a silver jews record of some kind on there although i'm not sure which one in particular you'd select.

why are you asking us, though, that's my question.

because I am curious to see what people think I would come up with

for example, I find it really funny that you mention OK Computer which I have never owned

the Jews represent one of those interesting quandaries because the total body of work is fabulous but it is very difficult to nail down that one precise album

i recall you citing it several times in younger days as one of your favorites in the canon, well before it had been established as canon. i'm pretty sure you were the first person i knew to jizz all over it actually, but in that curiously non-enthusiastic, non-explosive or even -noticeable way you have of jizzing on culture.

this is a fair game, too, where do you suppose my picks would lie? of course i've listed some albums twice on LJ, once in haiku form, but that was long ago.

is anyone worth asking even still on this thing at this point?

I reviewed it when it came in to WESN and my recollection is that I gave it a 3.8 and declared it to be part of the canon as sort of a fait accompli. It was one of those records where I found it objectively "better" than I personally held it up to be. The person who was actually gangbusters about it was .

Yours are much harder to nail down because you're a lot less likely to roll out 18 or 19 rock albums in a top 20. I could guess that early Shudder To Think or maybe Barkmarket would make an appearance but that would probably just be wandering down the wrong track. I'd also wager that our overlap will prove to be at least 1 album but probably no more than 2.

might still be lurking about.
