[Hm. This reminds her that she may have to remedy that section in the guide that she wrote about the cycles, as there hasn't been a clear pattern for some time.]

The New Feather cycle, up until that particular April, typically was monthly, save for one or two interruptions. But these last few times since August, it has been more unpredictable. [A pause.] The flow seemingly lasts longer, though there are longer breaks in between cycles now. We can only wait and see if this will be the new pattern for it.

I see. Can you think of any reasons this irregularity in the pattern is occurring?

There could be a few possibilities. Either the flow of people being drawn in to the world itself is more irregular, or the Malnosso themselves have paced the cycle differently; after all, they're the ones who determine who end up inside the enclosure.

Up to that April, the amount of New Feathers arriving had become more and more abundant; the village had not been that populated before... or since. New buildings and new floors were added to ensure housing space. And then gradually, more people began to get sent home... until the earthquake. That's when the cycles began again.

The flow of being drawn in. So individuals in different worlds might be simply drawn into this reality by random chance? [That's not something Bern speculated before. Definitely noting it.]

I heard that the earthquake was not a purposeful act, but a mistake. Could a mistake on their part cause the cycles to fluctuate...then again, it likely isn't something as easy to mix up. Or perhaps the earthquake was the cause of the affected cycle itself. This is all speculation of course.

Then there should be something else to be thankful for other than not looking at yourself in the mirror and thinking it's another person. [what about noel's cooking???]

Either a good stroke of luck or an improbable misfortune.

Thanksgiving doesn't seem to be the most well known holiday around here.

I'm not surprised. Even from the places I have observed it is not the most celebrated holiday.

Do you celebrate it back home?

Thanksgiving is a day to spend with one's family and friends. A common answer, but not a bad one. You should spend it with them well.

I will. That's the joy of being with a family.

So your entire family is here? [That...makes her blink. Patchouli said something similar after all.]
