NaNoWriMo is the full, er, short name. It stands for National Novel Writing Month. It's a massive challenge that happens each November where people try to write 50,000 words in 30 days.

I would really like to! I've just been struggling to write anything. I am working on a "book" as I call it (though really is going to be the 2017 sherlock/doctor who crossover that will really be the key to me winning an Emmy), but once I work on it the guilt of not working on my ff gets to me and I write terrible fan fiction (more so than usual) and delete it and just browse Tumblr.

it also doesn't help that my step father had decided he wants to write a book because he's a 'writer' and he a.) Ask me what good software to buy for writing (which I respond by saying that I don't even have ms word) and that b.) He hints he wants to read MY work because he assumes I write (he does not know <\I>), which hell will thaw before I show him my fanfiction ( ... )

I started this morning all motivated, did a word count check (which I suggest you NEVER do), and was only at 563...

I am going to cry into the 5 tons of coffee I need to drink to survive this month lol

No NaNo for me this year. I don't find it especially difficult to complete on a normal basis, but I'm out of the country right now. And really, starting a new project is only a distraction. I'd rather just concentrate on what I'm already working on and it's very likely I'll create a more focused 50k words this month anyway. I usually do, or something around there -- often less, but sometimes more. I'm not exactly typical, though.
