title: tumbleweed author: MaryBWolf theme: wild west rating: PG-13/T summary: a gunshot is a funny thing. it means different things to different people. it's an end. but it's also a beginning.
Awww, thank you, eldr! I struggled so hard with this one, and the only thing left from my original idea were whore!Sakura and wanderer!Kakashi. And then this happened... I'm glad you liked it.
Haha, that was the line that finally got me to finish this. (pervert. ;D)
Thank you! Good luck to you, as well. I've started reading the other entries and I'm looking forward to yours as much as anyone's!
I love your opening line. It sounds so mysterious and poetic (well, I think so!) and I just love how you described Kakashi's restlessness. I really liked the ending, too, because Sakura finally put him before her. :D
Thank you! Mysterious and poetic is what I was going for, so I'm pleased you thought so. :D Kakashi has always seemed like a bit of a restless spirit to me, and that idea fit well with the "lone cowboy" image I wanted to pull here. (Did it work? Haha.)
This is just lovely! It reads almost lyrically and it's adorable and I love the sheer amount of love and strength it would have taken Sakura to become what she did in the end.
Thank you! I experimented a bit with a new style, so I'm happy it came across well. Sakura, to me, has an extraordinarily deep well of strength, fueled by love, and she would do anything for the one(s) she loves. Glad you enjoyed.
I love how she follows him at the end... Like she understands his nature and probably has become her nature, too. It looks so adventurous! (though I hope he would have done just the same for her, given different circumstances!:))
Thanks for commenting, cheeky! Sakura had to give up her roots for him, to track him down and rescue him, and she had to become "tumbleweed," like he was, to do so. It was a rough journey and she grew and changed very much during that journey.
(He certainly would have done the same for her. I just wanted to spin the traditional Western idea of the man saving the woman, so Kakashi was the one kidnapped.)

I loved when she flicked the hat and he flicked the nose! (also because they then made love afterwards... hurr hurr)
Nice job!! Good luck with the contest!!
