Sakura, who was hunched over due to the intense fighting that was happening just a few minutes ago, realized that she was the only one alive in her troop. The Kunoichi attempts in vain to not look at the faces she remembers, and some she does not.

As the medic-nin passes more and more dead bodies, she comes across Sasuke's unmoving body, with Itachi's "body" lying right beside him. He is clearly dead, but Sakura can't stop her body from rushing to his side anyway.

"He's been dead for three hours, Sakura."

The girl whirls around to meet her sensei. As usual, he is reading his book, with a hand in his pocket and a somber look in his eye. Sakura shakes her head at the realization, and doesn't resist the urge to throw her arms around him. "Kakashi-sensei, thank the gods," she sobs into his chest, "I thought I was all alone."

For the first time in his life, Kakashi drops his book and returns the hug forced upon him. "So I guess it's safe to assume that there's no one alive on your end either?"

She shook her head, "Not since we separated. Where did you go?"

"To defend Tsunade, but when I got there she was already gone."

Sakura fought back the tears, "And the villagers?"

"I had Pakkun and the pack do a search of the five major countries three days ago when Kabuto decided to rid the world of humans, and they found no one."

This time, she didn't try to fight the tears, "Kakashi-sensei, are we really the last ones left?"

"I think so."

Sakura looked at the horizon, which was littered with bodies, and back at Kakashi. "So... what do we do?"

"Well... uh - I guess this means we should get started on the whole 'populating the earth' part, huh?"

"OH. OH HELL NO."

"Sakura." His stern voice cut through her. "Eventually, if there's no one left, we'll have to repopulate the earth."

Sakura would have outright laughed in his face if it didn't look so serious. Instead, she blanched. "Wh-what?!" she finally shrieked, and then promptly slapped Kakashi across the face. "I'm your student, Kakashi-sensei, and you should not be having those kinds of thoughts about me!"

"Well... you're not bad looking Sakura. And you have to think about this logically-"

Apparently that was the wrong thing to say. "Logically? LOGICALLY?! How is that thinking logically? Do you mean that if we have kids they won't be hideous?"

Kakashi pinched the bridge of his nose. Honestly, what did he do to the universe that stuck him with Sakura? And if there really was no one left, then he'd be stuck with her until he dies. "I am thinking logically. You are not. It is our duty as human beings to populate the earth."

"Well, I'm sorry, Kakashi-sensei, but I don't know if I can do that."

"Think about it, right now, there's world peace."

She shot him an incredulous look, "There's world peace because everyone else is dead!"

The Copy Nin sighed to himself, "Look, I know this is a lot to take on, and it's not like I'm going to force myself on you-"

She snorted, "Like I would actually let you."

His eye narrowed, "Anyway. We might not be the last ones left, but if we are, I'll at least make it worth your while."

Sakura blanched and bemoaned the possibilities of how he could "make it worth her while"; Sakura sighed to herself. "Can at least see your face?"

"No." He creased his eye upwards.

"The deal's off!"
