I had a call this morning from a job that I'd applied for about a month ago (what's up with that???). The guy was like, "I see you have an MA and an Hon. BA. Why do you want to work in an office?" Hey Sweetie,

I don't know if I can offer much advice...but I can tell you that I relate absolutely. Shhh...don't tell anyone this....but I too have been thinking of packing in the idea of doing work at the graduate level in favour of working, or at least taking classes to lead to a (imagine) JOB. Although I believe the whole 'do what you love and the money will follow' mantra, you do, every once in a while have to say 'what's up' to the whole situation. What does your dad say?

BTW - need to talk to you about the publishing courses. I think I might apply for my M.A. just in case I change my mind, but otherwise will be doing the publishing thing next summer/ fall.

i'm considering simply leaving the MA off my resume for some jobs...which seems completely idiotic, and yet, i've applied for 30 or so jobs and gotten 4 interviews, so...

still looking. i'm doing a follow up at the silver snail today...that's right, the comicbook store. i figure that if it's nearly impossible for me to find work, i might as well push hard for something i know i'll enjoy.
