Vermont Senate votes to legalize same-sex marriage! Whoo hoo! Off to the House, where it is also expected to be approved. The governor, however, may veto it. D: But that could be overridden! :D Come to New England, where it's A-OK to be GAY!

A behind the scenes clip from Leverage. No, really. "I think that was the Make-a-Wish kid...."

I love visiting graveyards! I want to find a list of the top 10 in the US (because I might be able to justify trips to visit dead people if there are no passports involved)

OMG. The cast and crew of Leverage are just awesome!

I shall search for that list. And call you for a road trip. :)

Ooooooooooooooooooo, cemeteries!

I didn't end up going into the Old Jewish Cemetery in Prague, mostly because it costs money to enter and I was but a poor, lowly student. But my sister and I did snap pictures from the window in the ladies room of the art museum next door.

What's funny is, I got basically the same shot I always see when someone posts pictures of the place. . . .

The Romanian cemetery looks absolutely fascinating. I think we hit up one of the Saint Louis cemeteries when we were down in New Orleans. The Buenos Aires one just makes me want to visit Buenos Aires even more. If Highgate is the cemetery I'm thinking of, I heard a lot about it from the Pscyhohosebeast before she went psycho, but never made it there, myself.

That list seems to be mostly based on visual aesthetic appeal, but I rather loved Greyfriar's Kirkyard in Edinburgh, and not just for the Mackenzie poltergeist (though that is a pretty fascinating story in and of itself ( ... )

I was watching cosmos the other day and discovered that they had messed with it in much the same way Lucas messed with re-releases of star wars.

There is an episode where Carl is discussing evolution and to illustrate the animation shows line drawings (stick figures?) of different creatures evolving into different forms, with branches being noted and then fading away.

Simple and effective.

But when he got to discussing dinosaurs, they replaced the line drawings of dinosaurs with clips from the CGI dinosaur shows that discovory/science likes to show. And then after a few (admittedly amazing) shots of dinosaurs running around eating each other, the stick figures came back.

Clumsy and embarrasing to watch.

So I only want the DVDs if they are the originals, not the "Han shoots first" version.

I checked the website and they say that Earth Hour is mostly about lights. Which I think lacks a thingness since why not turn the TV/computer/whatever off for an hour? But that is to say yes, according to them you can use your laptop.

If I use mine I think I'll go to battery power. We'll see.

Even if I use the laptop on battery, the router/modem are still on. So if I want to suck it up and go dark entirely, I need to disconnect myself from the internet.

*twitch* I can do it. Really. ;)
