We were headed to New York for Christmas a few years ago. We didn't leave Friday as planned, because a snow storm blew in Friday morning. Wow, I'm exhausted just reading about your trip. I've been on two-hour drives that stretched out to eight hours, but never anything as bad as this.

It was definitely an interesting experience. I've decided that I should be thankful that my son was only 9 months old and not older and more active at the time.

Ack, that beats some of my nightmare Christmas-travel stories all to hell and back, and some of them were pretty bad!

Hotel Hyndai was a worse alternative than I thought, though your point about being woken up by honking should anything change? Fair enough!

I was quite jealous of the trucker next to us with the sleeper in his rig. ;)

I surely would have given up half way through. Kudos for sticking to the plan and finally making to your destination.

I might have, but there was literally, no turning around. By the time we were moving the next morning, the roads were miraculously cleared.
