This packs a real punch; Merlin must have loved Arthur, but Arthur doesn't know the difference between ownership and love.

I always imagine Arthur as doing everything by rule, learning how to excel at anything put before him, but never getting the music behind the pattern until he is the recipient of the kind of open devotion Merlin gives him.
