Today I was on a fairy-tale kick and looked up all the fairy tales I grew up with. Some of them had links to Disney's rendition of them, and I was immediately struck by nostalgia. Stuff like The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, The Old Mill, Fantasia... ahhh, my childhood! ^_^ I need to break out those old VHS tapes and watch 'em again. I have ( Read more... )

Ah, Darkwing Duck! I remember when that was on. I used to be able to remember his little catchphrase. "I am the terror that flaps in the night, something something something..." It's weird, but I can remember stuff from cartoons I've never watched, too. Like, I can still remember the opening song for DuckTales, even though I never watched the show. Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers was another one. Oh, God... you just opened up Pandora's Box here. ^_^

And isn't that what DVDs are for? Recapturing your childhood? ^_^

It's not? That sucks. Is there any indication that it's going to be?

Gah... I don't know any of those shows. They must not've shown them in the States. What's Super Ted about, anyway?

Wow, that sounds cracktacular and awesome! XD

The Old Mill is this fantastic Disney cartoon about (what else?) an old, abandoned mill that has all sorts of animals living in it. Then a huge thunderstorm comes and threatens the mill and its inhabitants. It's a beautiful cartoon despite its dark settings.

You should know The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, I think. It's actually two cartoons. The first one is Disney's rendition of Sleepy Hollow, which blew me away even as a kid because of how dark and evil everything got as the cartoon progressed. The second cartoon is Disney's version of The Wind in the Willows. Crap, now I really want to watch them!

P.S. I emailed you back, finally. ^_^; Did you get it? I sent it to your Tofu account.
