So, let's get straight to the point.

Here's the catch: it has to be centered around a non-canon ship (like Alice/Edward, for instance), which is a relationship that could never, ever happen in the books

They say your life flashes in front of your eyes just before you die - well, whoever they are, they're wrong. Quil knows the end is fucking nigh and all he can do is scrabble at the impossibly strong hands pinning him to the wall so tightly he can't breathe.

It's a futile effort.

"No... please..." he wheezes, squirming in the vampire's grip, eyes wide in terror. "Don't..."

A throaty laugh answers him, and Emmett licks his lips slowly, deliberately. "You know, I think I'm going to." He leans in, roughly captures Quil's lips with his own - this used to elicit a passionate response, but Quil is frozen under him, and Emmett pulls back, laughing again.

"Why?" Quil whimpers, and Emmett grins.

"Thanks to you," he growls, "I've discovered I prefer the flavor of wolf to bear."
