We were talkign in Drama today, and somehow got onto the subject of religion. It was...inspiring? I'm not quite sure if that's the word I'm looking for, but w/e it was.. it was nice. It really made me think. She pretty much asked someone what they thought about why stuff happened, and if it happened spiratic, and spontaneously... or if it was a ( Read more... )

Hey! Wow, that's so interesting - my girlfriend and I were talking about this yesterday. I think we more or less established that there are religious people and there are spiritual people, and religious people like to think of things in terms of the effects of God's actions on the world, whereas spiritual people think in terms of the effects of their own personal actions on the world. I like the spiritual idea better because it feels like God can guide us but we're still in control of our lives at all times - it's up to us to change the world for better or for worse, so everything does happen for a reason, but its up to us to choose the reason. : )

And plus, it's good to have unanswered questions because it adds more dimension to our lives when we are actively seeking answers. Don't settle for anybody else's answers, especially not in the area of religion, becuase religion is such a personal, individual thing that nobody's answers should match.

Miss you! Happy Thanksgiving!

Its funny you posted this cuz right after school I was thinking about the same thing. I think that what we want to happen isn't always what we need to happen. Just because something didn't go your way doesn't mean it didn't go God's way. Our lives are like a big puzzle and if we choose to give our lives to Him... he'll make sure our peices fit together. But we just have to trust that what happens is whats best for us. SOmetimes we learn lifes most important lessons when things don't go our way... and maybe when things don't go our way God is using that to whittness to someone else about how well we handle the good times and the bad. I dunno if that helped you at all or if it made ne sense but thats just what I was thinking. I love you sooo much!!

x's and o's for my Kaity O
