Woo! Postcards done. Parent phone calls done. The phone calls were nerve-wracking (you know me and phones) but I didn't screw up anything too bad so we're good! Probably talked too fast though. Such is life

What do you send postcards for? I've neer heard of schools doing that and think it's pretty interesting.

I've never seen it before either but it's this newish trend in schools, especially in the younger grades. I don't know if I did it right but my postcards were just a short introduction of who I am, my co-teacher, etc. I also included some upcoming meeting dates and other prep stuff. Really it's a soft opening to get the kids used to the idea of being in school again (or for the first time!).

To remove sharpie, use a dry erase marker. Seriously. Blackout the sharpie with the dry erase and wipe it off. Bingo. Sharpie gone.
