This is from an idea that woke me up Saturday morning.
Title: You Were Wrong
Fandom: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, mentions of Detective Conan characters
'Verse: Potential AU of Mother's Legacy, Father's Curse. Could also be plain RotF AU.
Characters: Prowl, Optimus Prime, Blaster, Jazz, Saguru Hakuba, Natsuki Koshimizu, human OCs, unnamed human background characters
Rating: T
Warnings: Implied genocide. Destruction on a planetary scale. Angst.
Summary: After the Autobots are ordered to leave Earth by Galloway, they take certain measures. This is one of them.
Notes: The crossover section of the fanfic doesn't require any prior knowledge of the fandom used. Jazz was randomly resurrected because he fit well in that section of the fic. Entire fic built around the assumption that the Autobots were forced to leave Earth before the Decepticons attacked. Also assumes that the Autobots found and retrieved the Matrix of Leadership before the Decepticons did, but had it stolen after reviving Optimus and enough time passed for the Autobots to get off-planet.
They gathered around the viewscreen, the humans on the improvised - but secure - walkway built fifteen feet up and the Cybertronians - the mechana, as one of them explained, was the best term equivalent to the humans' "people" - standing around. Though grouped loosely by country, all of the human were melting together.
One of the mechana, who wore the black and white paintjob associated with law enforcement and had two doors sweeping from his back, spoke quietly to the massive blue and red truck. After a brief moment of consultation, the taller mech (blue and red) nodded, and the black and white mech moved away from the assembled mechana to join the Asian section of the humans, where five light-haired heads stood out in a sea of darker brown and black.
A sudden hushed silence fell over them. The blue-green-white sphere on the viewscreen was starting to warp, shift, lines of darker blue sweeping across the lighter blue and eventually onto the green.
A red mech standing at one console sagged abruptly. A smaller silver mech was at his side almost immediately, guiding the red mech into a nearby chair. A soft query followed, and then the silver mech turned back to the crowd, tones pitched to carry in the room.
"All communications from Earth have ceased."
A shocked ripple of silence ran through the humans assembled.
On the viewscreen, the green was darkening, changing to become an ugly mottled brown.
Swift commands from the red and blue mech sent some of the mechana to the consoles lining the room. Earth began to shrink in the viewscreen as a new light brightened the planet.
The last thing any of the passengers of the space-ship saw was the planet Earth being torn apart by its expanding Sun, chunks of magma and ground spinning into space.
The black and white mech tilted his head to speak with the five blond humans, who nodded in response and turned to begin ushering their companions away. Soon, only the five humans remained as the other humans tricked through the doors lining the walls of the walkway.
"I'm sorry we couldn't have saved more," the black and white mech murmured. They stood there a moment longer. Then the silver mech called for the black and white mech, and the mech turned away from the humans with a brief nod and a flicker of the door-panels.
They were among the last of the human race.
Edit: Slight changes made to the descriptions of the humans. Added more to the description. Now crossposted to
