Jury duty. I've been selected for jury duty. On the 29th of August, no less. Why is that so important? It's my first day back in classes, of course. Why wouldn't the summons be for the first day back? I hope they let me out of it. I don't think my profs would appreciate me missing 2 weeks of classes. NTM, that would be a 2 hr drive every morning. if you call/write a letter explaining you're in college you can get out of it

This is what I've been told. I just panic until I see things in offical writing.

Of course, part of my panic is that they'll say, "okay, just need proof of enrollment." Which, errr, I don't have yet.

*shakes fist at external loans dept*

don't sweat it, my mom wrote a letter for me and i got out of it and i can't imagine my mom had any proof of my college enrollment

Gargh.... and 2 hour drive isn't local. I don't care if that's where your legal residence is; a huge number of people our age (well, your age; I'm old :P) don't live in the city of their legal residence for much of the year. :P

But the whole school thing should get you out. Or walk into jurior selection being completely biased (one way or the other) and one of the lawyers will protest you as a juror. ;)
