Um, working backwards, if all the books ontop of each other totals 828 feet then the average thickness of each book is around 9.18299446 inches. That seems rather thick...

Yeah.. but new theory is that they're not stacked like you'd ordinarly stack books... its like umm end to end... does that make sense? Its the only way it could work I think.
