Jongin knows jealousy. It’s visited him on many occasions. His mum is jealous of how tamed the neighbour’s garden looked, his older brother is jealous of their sister, and his father is jealous towards the rich and successful. Jongin? He isn’t the type to be jealous. At least, he thinks he isn’t up until the day Park Chanyeol, one of his best mates, confessed to having developed feelings for someone. That someone being Do Kyungsoo.
Do Kyungsoo, Jongin’s crush of 6 years.
Jealousy’s a common thing in Jongin’s household. With his mum always complaining and whining about no one putting in the effort to pretty up the backyard and his brother and sister bantering about gender roles and clothes. His dad doesn’t say much, neither does Jongin himself. They both merely keep the burning emotion to themselves. Though recently with Chanyeol constantly interfering Jongin’s plans to impress Kyungsoo, his silence isn’t going to last very long.
Winter is currently at it’s peak. Jongin is seated inside a small, cozy cafè by the large display window with a cup of steaming tea placed before him. He always orders tea, it reminds him of Kyungsoo; warm, refreshing, enchanting.
Frost decorates the streets outside. People laugh and grieve as they chat on with one another about the weather and whatnot. Jongin sighs and leans back on his chair, right leg crossing over the other.
Jealousy was a strange thing. Jongin didn’t like the feeling of jealousy, it made him feel numb and unnecessarily frustrated.
‘I don’t know what I feel but it’s definitely strong.’ Chanyeol says, twiddling his fingers nervously. Jongin raises an eyebrow and ignores the gradual burning in his chest. He clenches his fist and forces out an encouraging smile for his friend.
‘Maybe it’s just a phase. You’ve only recently broken up, let’s not forget that.’ He replies, Jongin felt numb; in his head, his chest, his fists, everywhere.
‘No way, I’ve had my eye on Kyungsoo since we first met, I was just… Unaware at the time.’ Chanyeol argues, his red hair bounces as he shakes his head in denial. Jongin suspects that the other only dyed his hair red because Kyungsoo had as well.
‘You need to teach me how to dance before the party tomorrow, please. I need to learn, he loves people who dance. I need to impress him.’ Chanyeol pleads, as he grabs Jongin’s fists and clamps his own over them. Jongin could see the desperation in his eyes and almost pities the redhead.
“No way man, I can’t. Sorry.” He says, heart close to breaking at the crestfallen look glooming over his friend’s face. Close.
“As if I would ever help him take a step closer to being with my Kyungie-poo. What an idiot.” Jongin mutters to himself as he bites his lip in frustration. Stares and whispers are thrown at his direction as people walk by, causing Jongin to slightly turn his body away from the crowded area of the cafe.
He violently rubs his nose - which was now red due to a cold - before snuggling the bottom half of his face into the grey scarf wrapped around his neck.
“Jongin!”
The said male glances up in surprise, he quickly uncrosses his legs and adjusts his position on the seat upon seeing who had just called him, an attempt to look presentable.
“Kyungsoo, hey.” He smiles, his eyes gleam with a special kind of happiness as his crush grins back.
Kyungsoo looked extremely cute today, Jongin thinks. With his hair lazily swept to the side and his navy button up tucked into black skinny jeans, all underneath an opaque brown coat. A black scarf rests atop Kyungsoo’s shoulders and the smile radiating from his face was absolutely blinding.
Do Kyungsoo is beyond good looking. Jongin loves the way his hair was always fluffy, he loves that the older had soft, delicate hands, he loves that Kyungsoo’s voice could melt his heart in a second, and he especially loves the small, mesmerising freckles that were lightly sprinkled across the older’s peach coloured cheeks. What he doesn’t love, however, is the fact that Kyungsoo was the definition of oblivion.
“You-“
“I-“
“You go first.” Jongin offers,. He always prioritises Kyungsoo (who wouldn’t?). The other smiles gratefully and seats himself across from his friend.
“I know what you’re going to say, I’ve dyed my hair back to black, yes. Red hair got boring really quickly,” Kyungsoo begins, he doesn’t notice the little wiggle of triumph Jongin fails to retain and leans forward, “But anyway, have you seen Chanyeol around? The other day he asked me something really… Out of the ordinary and I haven’t seen him since.”
Jongin’s eyebrows furrow and he snorts, “Chinyeon? Who? Why are you asking me about the whereabouts of this unfamiliar being?”
Kyungsoo rolls his eyes and helps himself to Jongin’s cup of tea. Jongin’s chest flares with happiness as he watches the love of his life sip from his cup of tea, his heart thumps against his ribcage and he tries his best to refrain from screaming.
“Come on, I’m being serious.” Kyungsoo says as he places the cup back onto the coaster. Jongin’s gaze follows the elder’s hands, a bright shade of red donning his cheeks as he thinks about how experienced Kyungsoo’s fingers are.
“Jongin.” The black haired male calls, waving a hand in front of the younger.
“He talked to me yesterday… About y- gardening.” Jongin stutters, soft coughs escaping his lips as he stumbles over his words. Kyungsoo raises an eyebrow, genuinely confused.
“Gardening? But you hate taking care of plants. And Chanyeol’s too irresponsible to take care of anything in general.” God bless Kyungsoo’s obliviousness.
Jongin forces out a smile, it always felt weird lying to Kyungsoo. He’s so sweet and honest, and yet here Jongin was, spitting out sinful lies that would haunt him for the rest of his life. Jongin shudders, “I disgust myself.”
“What?”
Shaking his head, Jongin beams a goofy grin at the other and says it’s nothing important. Kyungsoo can’t help but to smile back before the two spend the rest of their time together in silence. During this period of time, Jongin finds himself admiring the other.
The way Kyungsoo’s black locks were swept to the right, lying just above his eyes made Jongin’s heart go haywire, violently beating against his chest. The younger male especially loved the faint freckles that decorated the other’s cheeks; if he was lucky, he even got to rub his thumb against them, the feeling of Kyungsoo’s soft skin underneath his own sending his mind all over.
Jongin leans back and a gentle smile paints his lips as his eyes wander around his crush’s features. His plump, heart shaped lips were definitely second favourite, the freckles being first. The brunette often wonders how it would feel to have those lips pressed against his. Are they as soft as they look? What would they taste like? Jongin fears he wouldn’t ever find out.
Blinking, the younger gently snaps himself out of his daze and allows words to pour right out of his mouth; anything to distract himself of the miracle before him.
“I’m not gonna teach him how to dance with you.” He exclaims.
Kyungsoo jumps, evidently surprised at the sudden outburst, “Sorry?”
“He’s got two left feet, and he bites my moves.”
Jongin puffs his cheeks, cursing himself to the ends of the earth for not having a filter on his mouth. But the frustration that had been building up inside ever since Chanyeol’s confession couldn’t be retained anymore. Jongin felt lost, confused. He felt jealous.
“Remember that one time at Jongdae’s party? He straight up copied exactly what I did on my performance night.”
Kyungsoo smiles, a subtle dimple blooming on his right cheek. Although very confused, he makes no move to stop Jongin, choosing to instead listen to the younger vent out his feelings. Jongin’s hands were clenched together in his lap, thumbs rubbing harshly against each other as he bites his tongue, not wanting to embarrass himself in front of the older.
“He came to me yesterday, ‘oh Jongin teach me how to dance’ ‘Jongin I want to impress Kyungsoo’ what an idiot. As if I would ever.” Jongin continues, his ears were now red. Not because of the cold but because of embarrassment. He’s so close to confessing his feelings for Kyungsoo but he really doesn’t want to mess up their friendship right now.
“Him learning how to dance won’t change anything.” Kyungsoo laughs, “How I feel about him won’t change because he knows how to dance, I’m not that shallow. Who do you think I am?”
“I-“
“Why do you have such a big problem with it?”
Jongin’s eyebrows are raised in alert, “What?”
“Why do you seem so alarmed that Chanyeol is interested in me?” Kyungsoo muses. Leaning back, he crosses his arms over his chest and a leg over the other. Jongin is a blushing mess right now, stuttering and stumbling over words. Kyungsoo chuckles and decides to steer the conversation away, not wanting the other to die of rapid blood rush.
“But that aside, are you coming to Jongdae’s party tonight?”
Face still burning a deep shade of red, Jongin quickly nods his head, “Of course I am.”
The two then dismiss the whole Chanyeol ordeal. Jongin is grateful for this, of course, as he drowns himself in Kyungsoo’s laughs and snarky comments, smiling widely as if he’s won the lotto.
“I’ve been in here for way too long without ordering something,” Kyungsoo chuckles, he then leans in and whispers, “And that waitress over there’s been eyeing me for a while now, I better leave before she kicks me to the curb.”
Jongin laughs at this, “Let’s go, I’ll walk you back to my place and we can go to the party together.”
Kyungsoo nods in agreement and stands up, stretching his arms out, a faint shade of pink painting his freckled cheeks as a few cracks are heard from his joints, “Looks like I’m getting old.”
“Shut up,” Jongin argues as he straightens out his scarf. “You look like a 15 year old and everyone knows it.”
Kyungsoo pokes his tongue out at the younger and they both laugh as they make their way out of the cafe. Their faces are immediately hit with a strong, ice cold breeze and snowflakes nest themselves in each strand of hair.
Jongin adjusts his scarf so that it rests just under his bottom lip and grabs Kyungsoo’s hand, “How are you not wearing any gloves? It’s freezing!”
A cheeky smile graces Kyungsoo’s plump lips as Jongin proceeds to place both of their hands inside his coat pocket.
The two begin making their way down the street, huddled together for warmth as strangers send them uncomfortable smiles. Jongin chooses to ignore them as Kyungsoo smiles back, eyes crinkling into sweet crescents and pearly whites peaking through heart shaped lips.
Jongin’s apartment wasn’t far, the two reach their destination in an easy 5 minute walk. The younger male savours every second being spent at the moment with the other. Who knows, they may be the last, seeing as Chanyeol may confess tonight.
Once inside of the room, Kyungsoo slips off his scarf and coat, draping them over the kitchen counter before making himself comfortable on the sofa. He crosses a leg over the other and grabs for the TV remote before lazily flipping through the channels, searching for a show that sparks his interest.
“Don’t you need to change?” Asks Jongin as he settles himself beside the other male, leaning his head on his shoulder. He feels Kyungsoo shake his head.
“No, what I’m wearing is fine,” The older says, “But do you have any concealer I can borrow?”
Jongin contemplates questioning his friend’s use for concealer but gets up to grab a tube from his room.
“Luckily for you, Baekhyun forgot his here the other day.” Jongin explains as he hands the tube to Kyungsoo, the other accepting it with a wide grin, “What do you need it for though? Your face is clear of pimples.”
Kyungsoo laughs and fishes out his phone from his pant pocket before opening up the front camera, “I’m concealing my freckles, of course.”
Jongin’s eyes widen and he quickly smacks the makeup product from the other’s hold, “What!? Kyungsoo! No!” He argues, eyebrows furrowing in genuine anger. “I love your freckles! Everyone does!”
“I don’t.”
“Hey, hey…” The brunette cups Kyungsoo’s cheeks into his palms, thumbs affectionately stroking the areas sprinkled with faint freckles.
“These freckles are what makes you, you. I’ve never understood why you keep hiding them away. Each spot,” Jongin pauses to lightly tap his thumb against the marks, “Has it’s own shape and world. They each represent a different aspect of you and that’s what I love the most. Whenever I see someone with freckles I think, Do Kyungsoo is such a blessing and I’m not just saying this as a friend! I’m saying this as any other person would.”
Kyungsoo smiles, gently placing his hands over his friend’s before slipping them off.
“Thanks Jongin. But I just don’t see what’s so important about them. Asians with freckles just don’t… Make sense.”
Jongin huffs, his eyes beginning to water as he tries his best to block out the negativity Kyungsoo is being exposed to.
He takes a moment to respond. Admiring the tiny specks of tanned skin decorating the peach coloured cheeks that belong to the most beautiful human being he’s ever seen. His eyes can’t help but to wander down to the older’s lips, thinking about how God must have purposely blessed him with heart shaped lips and how they would fit against his own.
“You’re so special.” Jongin whispers.
Kyungsoo blushes at this, not used to such an intimate kind of affection. The two sit in silence for a while, it isn’t awkward, but tense. Jongin wonders what to do next, is it the right time to confess? Should he kiss Kyungsoo? Should he hug him?
Kyungsoo on the other hand, is thinking up ways to break Jongin’s intense gaze on his face. To slap or not to slap? He asks himself, but the obvious answer is no, how could Kyungsoo hurt his friend just out of the blue like that?
A LINE notification break the two out of their daze and Jongin quickly spins around to face the TV, cheeks blooming a bright shade of cherry red. Kyungsoo rushes to pick up his phone from his lap and opens up the new message. It’s from Chanyeol.
Park Chans (●´ω`●)
Hey!! where are u? Everyone’s here already c:
Kyungsoo’s eyebrows furrow in confusion, swiping his finger down the top of the screen to check the time. 6:45pm
kyungdo
It’s only 6????
Jongin notices Kyungsoo’s look of complete confusion and diverts his attention to the older, “What’s up?”
“Apparently everyone’s already at the party…” Kyungsoo replies.
Park Chans (●´ω`●)
Hurry hurry!! Baekhyun’s challenged some guy to a dance battle & everyone’s drunk off their asses :p
“Let’s go I guess.” Kyungsoo says before standing up, pulling Jongin up with him. The two quickly grab their coats and scarves and make their way out the door; a change of clothes wasn’t necessary.
Jongin fishes his car keys from the inside pocket of his coat and the two take the elevator down to the car park below the building.
“Why is everyone there so early?” Jongin asks, shutting the car door after getting in as he makes a move to turn on the heater. Kyungsoo follows and fastens his seatbelt before shrugging.
“Hell if I know, they’re all drunk off their asses they probably think it’s 2 in the morning.”
Jongin laughs at this as the car takes off, driving up the ramp and into the streets. The ride is quiet; silence seems to be a common occurrence in their friendship today.
Kyungsoo fumbles with his phone in his lap, unsure of how to start a conversation. Jongin seemed all too focused on driving, with his fists clenching and unclenching the steering wheel and his right leg jigging nervously.
The older of the two lets out a small sigh and stares at his friend, choosing to instead admire the beauty that is his existence.
“Jongin! Kyungsoo! You guys made it!” Baekhyun sobs as he opens the door, hugging the two tightly before they got the chance to step into the house and away from the icy cold weather outside, “Come in, come in! It’s cold outside are you two crazy!? Why are you standing out there!?” His pastel pink hair bounces as he violently pulls the two friends inside, slamming the door shut in the process.
“You guys are like, so late.” Baekhyun sings, drawing out the ‘o’ in ‘so’. Kyungsoo and Jongin share a look and try to keep in their laughter as the pink haired host pulls them into the kitchen area.
There were bodies everywhere, swaying and grinding to the beat of the music playing at full volume. Cups were stacked and thrown, laying all around the place and Jongin was certain he even saw pairs of briefs hanging on the chandeliers and ceiling fans.
Baekhyun wandered off, disappearing into a group of girls with dresses that didn’t leave much for one’s imagination and Kyungsoo helplessly grabs at Jongin’s sleeve, afraid of getting lost in the sea of horny young adults.
“Kyungsoo!” The two turn their heads towards the familiar voice. Jongin feels his stomach drop to his ankles, knowing whom exactly that baritone voice belongs to.
“Chanyeol.” Kyungsoo grins as the taller envelopes him into a warm hug, “Woah there, big guy. You’ve been working out.”
Kyungsoo taps at the redhead’s stomach and they both laugh as Jongin seethes in jealousy from behind.
“Your hair! It’s black!” The taller male exclaims, he brings a hand up to sheepishly run through his red hair.
“Yeah,” Kyungsoo replies, “Got sick of red hair… I guess.”
“Come, dance with me.” Chanyeol offers, not allowing the other to answer before dragging him into the crowd. Jongin gapes at his friends as they disappear behind bodies and furniture, standing frozen at the counter. He wondered since when Chanyeol was confident enough to dance at parties, seeing that he’d rejected the red head’s pleading to teach him yesterday.
The thought immediately disappears however, as he watches his lanky friend flail his arms awkwardly, slightly off beat to the music. Kyungsoo looks extremely uncomfortable but he still manages to flash a large grin, as if he’s having the most fun he’s had ages.
Jongin hears a scoff from beside him and glances over. Baekhyun is subtly swaying from side to side, obviously affected by alcohol as he glares daggers at the pair in the distance.
The smaller male’s grip on the red cup in his hold tightens and Jongin cringes at the sound of plastic crackling, “He’s in love.”
“That idiot’s in love with Do Kyungsoo because who wouldn’t be.” The drunk male slurs, face scrunching in distaste as he takes a large swig of alcohol. Jongin looks insulted for a second but his expression quickly changes to one of agreement and sadness; Baekhyun’s right. Who wouldn’t be in love with Kyungsoo.
“But none of us can have him…”
Jongin’s eyebrows furrow and he asks, “Why not?”
“Because you love him, you stupid boy. Do you really think we have a chance against you? That fucker adores you.” Baekhyun sounds genuinely angry but the way his eyes are unfocused as he turns to face Jongin makes the situation almost comedic.
Jongin’s eyes widen and his mouth opens into a small ‘o’ as Baekhyun continues, “I’ve loved him for eight years, but it was always Kim Jongin this, Kim Jongin that. It’s never ‘Wow Baekhyun! Fuck me!’ Instead it’s, ‘Jongin’s dancing is so smooth’. What bastard does that. Chanyeol’s just too dumb to see it.”
Jongin blushes, cheeks rapidly warming up. It’s only now that he’s finding out Kyungsoo talks about him to others so he can’t help that his heart is thumping violently against his chest.
“I probably like him as much as you do. But of course, that doesn’t matter at all.” Baekhyun garbles.
Jongin glances over to the pair dancing in the distance and his breath immediately hitches as he watches Chanyeol close in on the love of his life.
Jongin bites his tongue, he can feel Baekhyun’s body pressed against his side - the other was probably too drunk to keep himself upright - as he watches his best friend lock lips with his crush. Chanyeol’s hand comes up to cup Kyungsoo’s cheek and Jongin almost cries at this.
No way in hell is he going to accept this fate. Kyungsoo is meant to end up with him! Not Park Chanyeol who can’t even dance to save his life.
“Hey!” Jongin calls, voice booming louder than the music. This catches everyone’s attention, including Kyungsoo’s and Chanyeol’s. Jongin isn’t thinking as he stomps up to the pair, violently separating them with his hands.
“That is way too much contact between friends!” Jongin is breathing heavily, wanting to stop himself before something embarrassing happens but also wanting to continue. Kyungsoo’s eyes are wide in shock and Jongin hates the swollen, moist look the older’s lips are donning (it may or may not be because he’s not the one who caused it).
“What the hell Jongin?” Chanyeol curses, grabbing his friend’s arm before dragging him outside onto the front porch. Drake is booming from the speakers inside and although muffled, it is still audible through the strong sound of the winter wind.
The door vigorously shuts behind them and Chanyeol is breathing hard, chest huffing and puffing and Jongin is currently too salty to think about why his friend is so out of breath.
“What’s going on?” Chanyeol asks, eyebrows angled down in an angry expression as he grabs onto Jongin’s shoulders.
The brunette almost screams in frustration, “YOU! You’re what’s wrong! Chanyeol open your eyes!”
The two stare at each other, one lost and the other angry.
“His cute little freckles and his… his soft stomach and peachy round cheeks. You’re ruining everything for me! Why’d you have to go and kiss him!?”
Chanyeol squeezes his friend’s shoulders and the wrinkles of worry disappear from his forehead, “Hey, hey. Calm down Jongin, Jesus. You know that I like him a lot and I’m not planning on stopping any time soon.”
Jongin’s almost never been jealous before. This is probably his first time, and so he doesn’t know how to stop the word vomit. The ice cold wind is gushing against their bodies but neither of them feel cold. The muffled music from inside is the only thing filling the silence as the bass causes the porch floor to vibrate.
They hear the door open but none turn to look at who it is.
“Why don’t we-“
“What do you like about him?” Jongin interrupts. “Do you like the way his eyes crinkle into adorable little crescents as his heartwarming laugh sounds through the silence? Do you appreciate the fact that every single freckle filling the spaces of his cheeks have their own shape and characteristics? Do you love him for the things he enjoys? He loves reading in his spare time, he loves learning new recipes and he’s someone who craves constant affection.”
“I- Truthfully, I only like him because he has freckles. He’s one of a kind.” Chanyeol confesses, ears blooming a deep shade of red as he twiddles his thumbs together.
“That’s it? Have you ever taken the time to notice that two of his freckles are identical? Have you noticed that the one under his right eye is shaped like a heart? No. I’m obviously the better option.” Jongin boasts. He’s aware that his words may hurt Chanyeol but he can’t seem to stop.
“Kyungsoo is the most beautiful person to ever exist and I only want what’s best for him. Which is you know,” Jongin clicks his tongue and leans onto his left leg, “Me, obviously.”
A laugh breaks out from behind the two and they whip their heads around, eyes widening at the sight of Kyungsoo. The male was trying to stifle his laugh behind his hand but was failing, the situation just seemed way too cliché to be real.
“Jongin, you can not be serious right now.” Kyungsoo chuckles, the two men before him crinkle their eyebrows in confusion as the newcomer breaks out into adorable laughs.
“Look Soo, as charming as your laugh is, I’m failing to catch what’s so funny.” Chanyeol says, Jongin nods in agreement from beside him.
“Guys, I’m not going to fuck anyone.” Kyungsoo says after taking a breath to calm down. He sees the way Jongin’s shoulders fall by a centimetre and is quick to rephrase. “I’ve liked Jongin for the longest time, it’s a miracle he doesn’t know. But I’m not going to fuck anyone because I’m asexual. I don’t have sexual thoughts about anyone and anything, it’s foreign.”
“I- Wait-“ Jongin stutters, his heart is palpitating too fast to call normal and his mind is in a daze. The only thing he registers from Kyungsoo’s confession was I’ve liked Jongin. Everything else was a blur but despite this, Jongin felt like he was on top of the world.
Chanyeol clicks his tongue, “Well, that hurt way less than I expected.”
Kyungsoo places a hand on the red head’s bicep and smiles warmly, “You never liked me Chanyeol, deny it however times you want but you’ve never liked me. Infatuation can be a scary thing sometimes. Believe me.”
Chanyeol looks grateful for the explanation, “I mean, I was pretty convinced I loved you but…”
The raven haired male nods at this before glancing at Jongin. Chanyeol nudges his head towards the door and quietly leaves, sensing that his two friends need some time alone.
“Jongin. It’s not a hard thing to grasp. I like you. And I know you like me too.”
Aside from Nicki Minaj blasting from the stereos inside, the atmosphere that swallows them is silent. Jongin holds onto the porch railing, his knees growing weaker and weaker by the second as he tries to fathom the idea of Kyungsoo returning his feelings.
“I’m not stupid Kim Jongin, you think I can’t see all those times you’ve stroked my face? I swear, I’m surprised there’s no hole on my face by the amount of times you’ve shamelessly stared at it.” Although he’s joking while saying this, Kyungsoo blushes. A light, peachy tone colours his cheeks and Jongin absolutely loves it.
“Yes.” Jongin says.
“What?”
“Yes, I’ll go out with you.”
“Jongin, I never asked.” The older states, highly amused. Jongin blushes furiously, his looks down as he kicks at the porch floor with his foot, he was extremely nervous, who can blame him?
“W-well! We’re going out anyway!” Jongin huffs, he turns around from the older and tries his best to act nonchalant. Kyungsoo laughs quietly and doesn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around Jongin’s waist, leaning the side of head against the younger’s back.
“I’m happy that we are. Finally. What took you so long?”
Jongin ignores the older, too embarrassed to continue with the topic. Kyungsoo feels the other shiver, the cold finally affecting him. He promptly unwraps his arms from the other’s waist and unwinds his scarf from his neck before throwing it over Jongin’s shoulders so that the scarf connected their two bodies.
“K-Kyungsoo.” The younger stutters.
“You’re cold. Don’t lie to me, I felt you shiver.”
Jongin can’t help the smile that surfaces. his body is a bit warmer now, but he doesn’t think it’s because of the scarf.
“I’ve realised something.”
Jongin hums in reply.
“My freckles are pretty special, huh?”
The younger smiles at this, he’s more than happy to know that his lover’s beginning to grow confident in his body, “Yeah, they are.”
“And they each have their own worlds.”
“Right.”
The two stand in silence. The wind was cold and tiny snowflakes occasionally land on their faces but despite the weather, their smiles were warm and their cheeks were heated with a deep hue of pink.
“Everyone loves my freckles…”
“Wait, Jongin- Stop! It tickles.”
The two new lovers were currently snuggled under Jongin’s sheets. The TV was turned on at the lowest volume as the brunette showers his boyfriend with affection.
Jongin grins and continues sprinkling pecks along his lover’s face. They both laugh and Kyungsoo playfully hits the younger’s chest, chuckles being muffled by his lips. Suddenly, Jongin spits out a sneeze and sniffles, causing Kyungsoo to pull back in disgust.
“Jongin!” He squawks, “Did you just sneeze in my mouth!?”
The brunette laughs hysterically, his nose gradually growing red by the second. Kyungsoo slaps his boyfriend before turning around, facing the other side of the room, “That’s so disgusting, get away from me.”
It’s barely audible but Jongin hears it, his laugh fails to die down as he wraps his arms around the other’s waist, pulling him back so that his back rested against Jongin’s chest. Kyungsoo yelps in protest and places his hands over his lover’s.
“If we die of some disease, I’m going to kill you in my next life.”
The brunette chuckles and trails butterfly kisses down the older’s neck, he notices the faint freckles spaced out around Kyungsoo’s neck and sighs adoringly.
“Did you know you have freckles on your neck too?” Jongin asks.
He feels Kyungsoo nod his head and without needing to look at the other’s face, he knows that his boyfriend is blushing. The raven haired male tucks his chin into his own neck, hair coming down to hide his face. He wasn’t used to his freckles gathering so much attention.
“They’re like sprinkles on a donut. You’re so cute.” Jongin gushes, tightening his hold on his lover. Kyungsoo whines, embarrassed by the compliments.
“Why does it seem like you only love me for these stupid spots.”
“Of course I don’t,” Jongin argues, “I love you for the way you always blush and hide away whenever I confess my love. That, and everything else that comes with knowing you.
“But, you know, your freckles are definitely a favourite.”
