Omg that movie looks so amazing. And the description made me lol XD --> In Ayothaya, Yamada learns to kick butt Thai-style even though he lacks an epic moustache. K-1 kickboxing star Buakaw Por plays the chap who teaches Yamada the noble art of mangling people in slow motion.

And oooh I hope the housemates thing works out for you! :D EXCITING~

I guess his leet samurai topknot counts for something, eh? Also he gets the traditional tattoos done in the trailer-- and that is some potent ass-kicking enabling ink right there. The festivals they have every year even to this day for e.g in that one famous temple are crazy intense to watch... To put it in a nutshell, the belief is that you can be possessed by whatever markings you chose (or chose you, I guess) and you have the believers suddenly overcome by animalistic urges and writhing around the floor, bellowing like tigers and/or jumping around like monkeys. TRUE STORY.

I am excited and also a bit nervous if it does work out! Mainly because then I. would eventually find out what a lazy and somewhat horrible person I can be, and I have put in so much effort to only let that side of me loose when I am alone XDD.

As I loaded this page to start to reply to the comments, I totally went to watch that clips three times in a row again. SO FAB. And I just noticed how horribly off-rythym the other guys are in the background sometimes! OH MIKE CHANG CLEARLY HAS HIS WORK CUT OUT FOR HIM, if he's ever gonna whip em into shape XDD

Muay Thai remains one of the most hardcore and awesome things everrrr

*LIKE*

Seriously the few Muay Thai movies I've seen (okay - pretty much Ong Back, Warrior King (has so many names in so many countries - Tom-Yum-Goong I believe is the original title) and Chocolate) have been fucking kick ass. Some of the stuff they pull of is absolutely ridiculous. Chocolate is especially and features a kickass female protagonist to boot!

Hurrah for Muay Thai!

(I mean seriously - there's this bit in Warrior King where they're all 'oh, yeah, let's totally have this fight in this temple in a room full of water and in slow motion' 'WE CAN MAKE IT MORE AWESOME!' 'how would we do such a thing?' 'WE SET IT ON FIRE!'. Furiously awesome. Furiously ridiculous.)

Hee, confession time here, but since I have so few friends that I can legit schlep to watch Thai movies with me I had such a gap in my viewings of Popular Thai Movies That Made it Big Overseas**... Slowly worked my way up to seeing Ong Bak a year or so ago though, and it was a GERMAN-DUBBED VERSION which was like hilarity times ten. Especially in the bits where people were speaking in Northeastern-dialect and you could tell where the dubbers just went "........THE HELL ARE THEY TALKING ABOUTTTT" and just left those dialogue bits as is. Quite the jarring transition, that was XD Still haven't seen "Tom Yum Goong" (THEY CALL IT "WARRIOR KING" IN ENGLISH?? Omg lollll for a whole 'nother reason than the obvious marketing ploy that was behind the Thai title, hee!) except for the awesome and hilarious cameos Tony Jaa keeps making in Mum Jokmok's own "The Bodyguard" action movies where he plays this exaggerated hyper-earnest idiot yet still badass version of his character. Every time I see Tony Jaa mentioned I always hear him yelling "WHERE ( ... )

I actually went out and bought their album so either tomorrow or when I get back to C'Mai I will see about getting you some sweet tunes. Though lol I just looked through their songs and this album has a song called "Hitler", which made me O_O;; like hell. Now that I've actually listened to the song, the lyrics are just random bullshit apparently about some asshole who dresses like a prick and mainly just is to showcase a stupid pun on the fact that in Thai, "is it a hit?" sounds the same as when you mangle the pronounciation of Hitler a bit (= "Hit-rurr?"). This continues the trend of lots of people in SE Asia Not Getting that this particular chapter of WWII is not exactly suited for stupid songs like this ahhhh SLUR WHY ARE YOU MAKING ME WANT TO HEADDESK. The rest of the album seems promising though, ahhhh there is that XDD ( ... )
