I would say faith, is having the ability to believe in something without having to have tangable results all the time.

Faith is belief in something without sufficient proof. I would say nearly every belief requires some degree of faith, since my threshold of sufficient proof is extremely difficult to cross. However, some beliefs require a great deal more faith than others.
