My dad, a copy editor long these many years, once got into a discussion about pronunciation with two other coworkers, one of whom was rather new and had (evidently) never spoken to my dad before.
At one point, she said something wrong. Dad then turned to the other guy and said "Thank heavens there's someone around to help us pronunce things."
