I haven't had the ac in at all this summer, until last week. I slept two nights in a row with the ac and fans on in the bedroom... more because of humidity actually. And I got sick

uhmm cold wise no. Mildew and mold, maybe. I would just take it apart and clean it before you use it. That's what I do when I can afford to have the ac in my window. I just clean off the screen and Lysol the crap out of it.

Could be allergies, too. Make sure the filter's clean, of course.
