And after a three-month delay ...

So, I started doing a marathon Princess Tutu rewatch late Friday night, and it occurs to me that I've reached the point I left off in taking notes on my last rewatch.  So, in the interest of finishing something for once in my life, notes recommence.  There will probably be more tomorrow (or later today, as the case may be), if only because I'm a ( Read more... )

Yay for PT rewatch~! :D

I think my favorite part of Karon and Raetsel's conversation is the simultaneous "w-whoa, she likes him, holy shit adult relationships" look Fakir and Ahiru get on their faces.

I love that simultaneous eye-widening look. XD

... And how did it get left in? o.O

I don't get it, either. XD;;; You'd think for SURE they would have something like that edited out before the final version. Maybe because of not doing bloopers for the rest of the series, they left it in. lolol Only not really.

Ahiru decides it would not be preferable to have a tree for a boyfriend, and brings out Tutu to do something about the situation.

I thought it was worth noting that this is the first time she transforms into Tutu that doesn't have to do with a heartshard or helping Mytho, specifically. At least, I'm pretty sure it is.

Oh, hey. When Fakir says he'll watch over everyone from ... his state of tree-nirvana ... there's a shot not only of Mytho but of Rue. And none at all of Ahiru. Huh.I think this is because it shows flashes ( ... )

Yeah, it seems like the sort of thing that would be caught immediately in editing, so I have to think it was on purpose. Fff, maybe. XD;; Yeah, it was funny the first time, since I wasn't expecting it, but it loses it's charm pretty quick. I guess it's good I don't normally watch the dub when I watch Princess Tutu, as it's such a great scene.

At least, I'm pretty sure it is.Yeah, I thought so too. I guess if someone really wanted to make a case for her not transforming for anyone except Mytho, they could say saving Fakir was an indirect way of helping Mytho ... but I really don't believe that. She's obviously just worried about Fakir, enough to ( ... )

The main thing that interested me was that he did see Rue, though. All I can think is that either he was recognizing all the main players in the story, or that he really felt the urge to watch over Rue, despite how bad things were between them at that particular point.

That's interesting to consider, too. Since even later, in the Lake of Despair and after Fakir and Ahiru dance, they see Rue appear in the gear as she's wasting away in her dancing. And although Ahiru's surprised to see her and whatnot, Fakir doesn't seem surprised at all. And he tells Ahiru not to worry cause he's sure that Mytho will save Rue. And I sensed uh... pretty much no animosity or disdain or anything the like at that point. And it made me wonder if Fakir already knew about other things that were going on in the story. Like Rue's sacrifice.

I HEARD THAT PRESIDENT LINE TOO. The first time I watched it, actually, before anyone else ever noticed it. D: Fakir wants Obama to come and save the day!

And I think that Fakir doesn't think of Ahiru while he's in the dream state because it is Ahiru that wakes him up to reality and makes him not become a tree. If he saw Ahiru anyway, he'd be seeing her call out to him to come back, too. The Oak Tree is very sneaksy that way. 83

People didn't notice? I thought it came through just as clear as anything else. o.O Fff, yes Obama would totally get the Raven's blood out of Mytho. XD

Yeah, that's what Manda said too, and I think it makes sense. I think I was really most surprised that Rue was one of the people he saw. That he didn't see Ahiru was a bit of an afterthought. XD;;

A few people mentioned it on Dev Art recently like they hadn't heard it before...and I don't remember anyone really having come out with it going "WTF is this?" except in kind of singular instances like your mentioning of it. XD; And YES. Obama's public health care package will include treatment for raven's blood! If it's ever passed.

...Fakir's her bitch, he just doesn't know it yet? XDDD But I guess, at that stage, Kraehe/Rue wasn't a direct threat, as she isn't the actual Raven (as he'd first thought), but she is still part of the story, and so would be important to a writer's mind.

Maybe nobody wanted to comment on it, or something? o.O IDK XD Good thing, too. I imagine it takes more than a simple blood transfusion to take care of that stuff. ... Yeah. >>;;

Ah, yes, there's the reason! XDD That's true, but she still wasn't exactly one of his favorite people in the world. I guess it makes sense that he thinks of her as important, though.
