YESSSSSS!!!!! Oh, I did wonder if you got to that book already. It was made of so much awesome, with just the right balance between subtext and actual text, and oh. The nifty plot, Ellie Quinn, and the cool socio-biological concept were also pretty great bonuses. ♥

It was all coolness, and she actually managed to link it to the Miles stuff using Ellie. XDDDD It was pretty WIN.

The linking to Miles is another bit of fun (did you notice it connects to that talk Miles heard between Ryan and Millisor in Cetaganda? Referrencing FTW!) but I was mostly amazed at how she made me love these totally new characters and different perspective on the world nearly right from the beginning, when all I knew about it before was "darn, a spin-off that has nothing to do with anything in the middle of all the fun Miles books"...

Definitely WIN.
