I want to make this now. I have no clue if there's a guy around here that I know that would model this for me, plus I'm betting those are 12 or 14 gauge (SWG) stainless steel rings there in this European 4 in 1, so OW, wrists and arms! - but I want to make this now ( Read more... )

Of *course* you're looking closely at those rings to see if they're soldered. Of *course* you are.

I was! If they are, excellent work on the solder for sure. If not, impressive work on closing the kerf on those rings and getting them seamless, which is always the goal no matter what kind of rings your using but really impressive in stainless steel, because springback, hello! The chain maille part of my brain was running stats, and I was right in guessing they're 14g (SWG) rings, the creator shared stats today, 5/16" ID rings. A non-chain maille part of my brain was appreciating the artistic merits of the photo overall. ;) :) :)

Oh, and this is European 4 in 1, the weave I taught at the last Galacticon. Which means YOU could make this also, if you so desired. ;) ;) :) :)

I was right that they are 14g (SWG) rings, the creator shared a couple of stats today. 5/16" ID rings. And they're gotta be stainless steel, bright aluminum has a little different look even in that size.

I need moar rings! And if I tackle stainless in that gauge, I will certainly need to look at getting some pliers from Lowe's or Home Depot! :)
