That's a bummer. You could always try for hosting still. There's a few decent, responsive ones I know of. Like my site's host, paint-pops.net
And my friend Amber's hosted at so-pink.org So-Pink is really hard to get into. Amber thought she wouldn't get accepted, but she did. So if she could, I know for certain you've certainly got a wonderful chance at it.
Webs used to be Freewebs, I believe. I used to have my earlier sites hosted there because they don't have obnoxious, hideous ads like Geocities. I'd definitely say Webs is one of the better auto-hosts out there. It's just a bummer that some people judge a site by its being hosted on sites like those though.
Until you have the money saved up for a domain, you could certainly give applying for hosting at Paint-Pops or So-Pink a shot. I know they're very active/responsive. It really couldn't hurt. I'd just really like to see your site hosted. Even my friends Amber was like, "WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY DOING ON WEBS WITH A SITE LIKE THIS!?" XD
