I don't really want to go into detail why I think pretty much everyone has left livejournal (or why forums in general are dying) and moved to tumblr or other very minimalistic platforms :/ but as for why livejournal still exists it's probably because they still earn enough with ads through the likes of ohnotheydidnt to make this platform profitable. To me facebook communities are not a replacement for livejournal or any other forum-type format as there's neither a way to sort and filter content nor does it actually promote creative investment by members. It lacks readability as soon as it comes to more elaborate discussions or more extensive posts which also kills it for me....
Sorry, I don't know what happened to Izumi, Shin and Akiya - if they're still making music or what... would be interesting to know!
There's still a few ghosts lurking around. ww The reasons for the mass exodus from LJ ... well, it was years ago that it really happened for reasons that, from what I remember, were fear driven, but... *shrugs* Add in that other, newer platforms had that shinyness of newness and yeah... *shrugs* It's too bad, cuz it feels like fandom has really fractured since the fall of LJ as a central place. But that's also sorta how the internet cycles, so.... *shrugs*
Naoki was still in contact with Izumi for awhile, I haven't heard anything about that lately, though. Last I'd heard about Shin, he was doing producer-type work with other PSC artists. I think I remember hearing the band Akiya joined after Kagrra has since disbanded? Could be wrong, but I haven't heard about anything musical from him in years either.
It's nice to see that there are still people here. I usually go to MH forum which is very well organized and also elegant but it's not the same thing. Livejournal was perfect because it wasn't too organized, it didn't put everything into "little boxes: links", so we used to read everything related to a specific subject. Anyway, it would be nice to know what happened to the other members, but I guess they've disappeared, this is so sad.
I used to pass by here when Kagrra was still active, to see news, scans and such. It's hard to be active here even on livejournal :( I would really like to hear more about ex-Kagrra's members
