Putting things in perspective

I now feel really guilty about bitching so much about my midterm test grade. I just found out about the earthquake. Damn. I've gotten nothing to complain about. It makes me feel small and self centered that I am not more regularly appreciative of how well I have it. How tiny my problems are

Bad things happen on all sorts of levels, and we just saw how one little isolated bad thing looks in perspective to another far larger, far more devasting, far longer-reaching bad thing.

The real tragedy is that, while natural disasters seem to happen to perfectly innocent and undeserving populations, the hyperzealous and arrogant whackjobs in this nation haven't been struck down by God/Fate/Science/Chaos/Mother Nature/who(-or-what)ever is in change of the known universe.

(A certain administator of a certain midterm may be classified as a hyperzealous and arrogant whackjob, right?)
