I've actually had vague thoughts along those lines, but you laid them out in coherent form. It would not surprise me at all if this or a similar dynamic is at work.

I have read the book a couple of times, and I probably had read it at least once at the time I had the dream. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if that impacted the dream (although I'd like to think that the rest of it was my own rich imagination. Heh.)
