Notes From Opie Land

Over the last three days, I've discovered that Opie, our 14-year-old ginger kitty loves Marmite. I mean, he looooves Marmite. I discovered this while I was indulging my own love of the stuff (WHAT??!?) over the weekend.

He came up to where I was seated on the livingroom couch and began sniffing at my Marmite-smeared saltine

Hobbes is obsessed with yogurt and always gets to lick the bowl. He may be asleep, but as soon as I sit down to eat it, he is suddenly sitting on the table, glaring at me. If I eat too slowly he tries to get at it before I'm finished. But woe betide me if I eat it any other way than plain. I usually prefer it that way, and now I rarely have anything in it anyway as he gets so upset.

One of our late kitties was also a bit of a yogurt lover, although he didn't go to Hobbes' level of glaring at me. He'd stand on the livingroom table, if I was eating the yogurt in that room, and he'd stared fixedly (and somewhat plaintively) at the bowl. Only as long as it was plain yogurt, mind you, just like Hobbes. Heh.
