I can't believe how long it's been since I actually posted something, or responded to other folks. Here's my "n things makes a list" post
( Read more... )
I am enjoying it for as long as I can; I will have to start looking for freelance work as the year goes on, and I'm checking on what to do to get that started. I've been a freelancer precisely once in my professional life, and that was more than 35 years ago, so the lay of the land will have changed. I wish I could simply retire, period, end of sentence, but that won't be possible. My health is relatively good, and retirement allows me to pay more attention to it - and to the health of my beloved. I worry about him, and about my son, but that's me, being a worry wart.
OMG, I have missed you - and I wonder how much I missed...and I see it was a lot! Got a message from Linked In nudging me to congratulate you on 36 years with Pioneer Press. Rather glad I strolled over here instead, lol!
Happy retirement, lovie! May you find peace within it (and more chances to snuggle with BB and enjoy old Who).
And I've missed you, my dear! I hope we all see you around a little more, although I understand how hard you're working to make ends meet.
Yes, 36 years with PP, and 43 years of near-constant full time work. I know a lot of people say that they don't know what to do in retirement, but I haven't reached that point yet - I'm loving sleeping in until 10 a.m.
As I've mentioned elsewhere, I will have to return to part time work - yay, American medical system - but it will be part time freelancing, and I may only have to do 4 or 5 stories a month to make the minimum I've figured I'll need.
Sleeping in would be awesome - and freelancing sounds like a good way to stay sharp and do what you love, without all the pressure full time work brings.
