Thanks - I got more than enough sleep last night and this morning, and at least some of the growling abated, although I'm not sure that will last forever. Still, I'm happy for small mercies.

The photo shrinkage wasn't too bad.

But, on the more serious note, best of luck to Andy and his wife in the strange, supposedly rainy land of Westcostia. And I really hope that the cats will get along better in the days to come, for all of y'all's sake.

I think they are much braver than I am; I think my fears are that there are some things that can't be overcome with bravery. Still, it's the right thing for them to do - certainly, they think so - so I'm backing them as much as I can.

Best of luck to them with the move, and to you with the cats meanwhile!

We had a surprisingly calm night with the cats, which was a relief (even though I know we'll eventually have more hissing and spitting).

Thanks for the good wishes, on their behalf!

Good luck to Andy & Emily - and to you with the cats. <3

Thanks on Andy's and Em's behalf. The cat situation is at least calmer today than it was yesterday, so I'm counting my blessings. The two newcomers are cute, although they're not all that bright, and we've cat sit for them before. If everyone of the feline persuasion was happy, it would be a fun two weeks.

... they're cats? The stupidity merely makes them more adorable.

ETA: I found the post I was thinking of when writing this:

Heh - we have had two orange cats; one was regal and very intelligent. The other is so squirrely that we can't accurately figure out his true intelligence, because we can't figure out what's squirreliness, and which is lack of intelligence.

They made it out there - and now it's almost time for Bob and I to fly out there with their two kitties; we do that on Friday. Not particularly looking forward to four and a half hours in a pressurized inescapable cabin with two cats in cages under our seats, but that's what Andy and Emily want. They don't want their kitties in the pressurized baggage area, and I guess I can understand that. Ah, well, once they're delivered, we'll be there for two and a half more days, so we can perhaps play tourist a bit.
