Thanks - we're trying. It's a sunny Sunday afternoon, and I managed to sweep the kitchen and dining room; Bob and I made the bed, and he's doing some laundry. On the whole, I think we've managed to keep the place from looking like a sty. It takes up a lot of energy, but living in a messy home also takes up energy. Now that it's at least presentable, we can go back to being sick slugs.
I'm going to attempt a full day of work today; we'll see how that goes. Bob will continue to take it easy. We're both still pretty congested, so I won't go out tonight, even if I do have meetings to attend.
You were actually able to get writing done while sick with influenza? I'm honestly impressed.
I get that the symptoms are just something you have to suffer through until you both recover (kind of like chemo side-effects, I suppose), but I still hope it will still pass as quickly as possible. And, like I wrote on Facebook, tea helps. In my admittedly biased Russian opinion.
Delayed response; I have most definitely been drinking tea - with a lot of milk, which sort of defeats the purpose of getting rid of catarrh, but does wonders for my mood. I'm thinking of trying just tea with honey, but (and this says more about me than I care to think about) I hate the fact that tea without milk stains the insides of my tea cups.
Time for some Japanese green tea with barley. That I'm very happy to drink without anything in it, and it doesn't stain anything.
And I'm almost all better now! BB is also better, but his health means his recovery is a lot more slow.
I'm sick with pretty much the same thing you have/ had. I'm home today because my entire body aches, but mainly because my voice is completely kaput. When I try to talk, I sound like something from a bad horror movie. I can whisper, but that's it. Last night I was running a 100 degree fever and was shaking so hard I couldn't get warm under a mountain of blankets. I took some Tylenol, which brought the fever down to the point where I could sleep.
Thankfully, the internet allows me to stay connected to work. Also thankfully there is not much happening in the office right now.
hoping that the chickens Mueller is feeding become large enough to squash 45 when they come home to roost
Oh God, me too. I keep hoping one or more of those chickens will sing like pretty little canaries. : D
Another delayed response; I hope you're doing better now - you really sounded as if what you had was much, much worse than what we had. Chills like that are the worst! Accept many virtual mugs of hot chocolate from me!. I'm much better, as is BB. All the dueling doctors' diagnoses finally came down to "Flu B" which is simply bacterial flu. As BB's doctor said, "I don't know why they give the same name to two very different illnesses." Probably because
I'm still sick (see my most recent post). It's actually a bacterial sinus infection, which means they can put me on an antibiotic. Alas, the medication they put me on to control the coughing has done jack squat, so the most annoying symptom is still a problem. : (
Eurgh. Sinus infections are awful; my sympathies are still with you!

One of the only things that has ever controlled coughing for me has been codeine, and even though I take codeine every day, it wasn't enough to stop the coughing.
