Cauliflower, Capons, Early Deadlines
I have just roasted cauliflower florets after tossing them with coarsely chopped garlic, red pepper flakes, salt and olive oil. It is really, really good. I don't know why I didn't think about roasting cauliflower before the age of 61. (Me, not the cauliflower.) I have a new side-dish for Thanksgiving!

Also, roasted cauliflower and broccoli is amazing. I don't even like cauliflower normally, but when roasted I actually do. I toss with olive oil and sprinkle with parsley, basil, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper.

Yes, I understand this! The last couple of years, we've been taken out for Thanksgiving dinner by friends, which is lovely, since one doesn't have to cook for the holiday - but in both years, I've gotten a small turkey afterwards and cooked it. I suspect no holiday is a holiday, in my head at least, unless it allows for the possibility of post-holiday turkey sandwiches. Heh.
